The 3rd Annual Canadian Cancer Society Christmas Craft Fair was held at The Plex in Port Elgin on Saturday, November 14, with all funds from the ticket sales going to help cancer patients in Grey-Bruce.

Event co-ordinator, Angela Corrigan who has been organizing the craft fair under the Society's banner for the past three years said that the fair ran for 35 years with the Cham-bettes then after a year's lapse, the Cancer Society took it on. “It's getting it back to being known,” she said. “We're just in the process of doing that.”

Corrigan said that they were at capacity with 53 tables, which were sold out at the beginning of September.

For each of the past three fairs, between $1,000 and $1,500 had been raised for the Cancer Society and last year 1,000 people attended the event. “It all depends on the weather,” said Corrigan.

A wide variety of hand made products were available for shoppers, including Christmas cards, quilts, jewellery, toys, woodwork, paintings, books, soap, clothing, baking and photography, to name a few.Roar by RexElizabeth and TiffanyMegan and CatherineJanet Atkinson
