After a sold out event May 12 to premiere Episode 1 of the TVO documentary, The Bruce, makers are getting ready to air Episode 2: The Last Frontier, and Episode 3: The Peaceful Path of The Bruce.

The three part series explores the history of the Saugeen Ojibway territory and Bruce County with Episodes 2 and 3 airing at the Plex, 600 Tomlinson Drive in Port Elgin, on Saturday, June 2 at 7 p.m.

From a The Bruce media release, those wishing to attend are encouraged to get their free tickets at the event page on eventbrite.ca. Organizers suggest attendees have their tickets printed for ease of entry.

Each episode is 50 minutes long and there will be a 10 minute intermission.

“After such a great response from Episode 1, we’re excited to share the second and third episodes with the people of Bruce,” said Director Zach Melnick, “It’s wonderful to see so many people interested in the history of Bruce, because I believe a solid understanding of history - from many different perspectives - is key to imagining a better future.”

The Bruce will air across the province this summer on TVO.

A creation of hundreds of volunteers from across the region, The Bruce will be distributed for free to every school and library in Bruce County following the premiere events, along with a curriculum companion. Part of the non-profit Ontario Visual Heritage Project, The Bruce has been created in partnership with the Bruce County Historical Society, and in collaboration with the Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

Funding for the project was received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation in 2016, and from partners in the community.
