Southampton BIA wants you to "run" to Southampton May 31 and June 1

Every year the Southampton BIA welcomes the Rotary Huron Shore Run organizers, participants and spectators to Southampton and aims to build on what is already a successful annual event by offering programming and things to do in town for the weekend.

"We hope to continue to grow these initiatives in partnership with Rotary in the years to come," said Heather Hyde BIA Coordinator in a media release.

The second annual Noodle Night is scheduled for Friday, May 31 during regular business hours. Participating restaurants will help runners and guests prepare for the big day by offering pasta selections. All pasta lovers are welcome. Participating restaurants include Duffy's Fish and Chips, Highview Food and Drink, Little Black Dog, Outlaw Brew Co. and the Walker House.

On Saturday, June 1 businesses in Southampton will be opening at 8 a.m. to celebrate the Rotary Huron Shore Run participants and spectators, some with special offers. Participating businesses include Southampton Meat Market, Martin's Bicycle Shop, Thorncrest Outfitters, Southampton Olive Oil Company, Harrigan's, Down's Pro Hardware, Just Like Mom's (open at 6 a.m.), Martin's Home Hardware and Offshore Bakery.

Enjoy a special Music On High performance by Northern Mind Saturday afternoon, June 1 in the alley between Southampton Olive Oil Company and Hills Insurance.

Also in conjunction with the Huron Shore Run, a special paddle event will take place on the Saugeen River from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1. Paddle from County Road 3 to Denny's Dam (approximately a two hour ride). There are prizes to be won and advanced reservations are required.
