Take part in some star gazing at the Bruce County Museum this March Break

The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre (BCM&CC) is excited to host the Royal Ontario Museum’s travelling planetarium this March Break.

In a BCM&CC media release, attendees will have an opportunity to discover the wonders of the universe through the ROM Travelling Planetarium, an inflatable dome that projects the night sky; learn about the sky from season to season throughout the year along with the constellations from Greek mythology.

‘Baker Magic Show’ will kick off March Break Family Fun Days on Monday, March 16 at 2 p.m. with family friendly magic tricks, sleight of hand and mind reading illusions.

Tuesday will bring ‘Wild Ontario’, an environmental education program based at the University of Guelph, using live birds-of-prey and passionate people to connect humans to science and nature.

An ‘Amazing Astronomy’ presentation by John Hlynialuk is set to take place on Wednesday.

‘Studio Babette’ is performing two “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” puppet shows on Thursday with a mini suitcase show in between.

Then on Friday the ‘Celtic Academy Canada’ will delight with a performance of traditional Irish dance followed by a workshop.

To close out this fun-filled week ‘Hype Performing Arts’ is leading a dance workshop on Saturday, March 21.

In addition to special guests, each day has a special theme with self-led activities, crafts and family friendly matinee movies

During March Break KidZone Discovery Day Camp, children ages 5 to 12 will be entertained with daily themes and activities with opportunities to attend for a single day or the whole week. Space is limited; pre-registration is required and can be completed by calling the Museum at 519-797-2080. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., early drop off or late pick up may be arranged for an additional fee.
