Spring Detox was the theme of the April 21 Business After Hours (BAH) event, held at The Pea Pod in Southampton and co-hosted by Maple Shores Health Centre, Port Elgin.

The Saugeen Shores Business After Hours events offer networking opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere with food, drink and door prizes and are held at various Chamber member locations in Saugeen Shores. They take place monthly, except in the summer months of June through August, and are open to all Saugeen Shores Chamber members as well as those thinking of becoming a member.

Thursday's guests were treated to a variety of tasty appetizers from The Pea Pod. “We've got a sample of five of our salads and then we have all of our dips, spring rolls and some of our raw cookies as a treat,” said Pea Pod co-owner, Doris Ross.

Over $200 was raised for the host's charity of choice, the Caitlyn Cobean's Community Crusaders in support of the Tara "Boom" Houston Children's Foundation, which raises money for families with children who have a life threatening or terminal illness.

Emcee for the evening, Robbie Robinson, spoke of the Business Recognition of Achievement in Saugeen Shores (BRASS) Awards, which recognizes Saugeen Shores business owners who have contributed and made a difference in the area.

Tickets to the awards dinner and gala, which will be held at Saugeen Golf Club on Saturday, May 28, will go on sale to Chamber members on May 1 and to the public two days later on May 3. Proceeds from The BRASS Awards go to support community events and initiatives throughout Saugeen Shores. Tickets are $50 for chamber members and $55 for non members.

The next BAH, the last one until September, will be held at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton on Thursday, May 26.
