The staff of Bruce County Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Center celebrated the opening of their new location September 12 at 5098 Highway 21 in Port Elgin.

After months of building, the Bruce County Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Center (BCCRC) opened its new doors with a celebratory ribbon cutting September 12 at its new location, 5098 Highway 21 in Port Elgin. The practice which expanded from nine to 19 rooms is 6,450 square feet and has tripled the gym space that was offered at the previous location.
Saugeen Shores Councillor Mike Myatt, who cut the ceremonial ribbon, said the new building is “absolutely amazing." The clinic is owned by Laura Barfoot and the building is owned by Laura, along with her husband Matt Barfoot and Brock and Michelle McDonald and Myatt congratulated them all for their success and said it was an honour to be asked to officially open the building.
Myatt noted the growing community of Saugeen Shores as the fastest growing municipality in Grey and Bruce counties. "This kind of investment, with the growth we’re anticipating over the next eight to 10 years, you have to have these kinds of services available for people moving into our community,” said Myatt.
Laura Barfoot thanked the councillor for his assistance during the planning and building process as well as the Town of Saugeen Shores and council. "All of their support for this new building has been outstanding," she said.
Barfoot then thanked her partners and their families for all their time and effort and Rick Plant of Landmark Building for “finishing ahead of schedule and making their vision a reality." She also her co-workers who she said have become her friends. “To have an opportunity to work with driven, dedicated and intelligent individuals that focus on providing the best patient care as possible, thank you for doing the outstanding work you do everyday," Barfoot said.
She then turned to her husband Matt and thanked him for the energy he has put into the practise adding, “without his support, encouragement and dedication to this clinic it would not have grown into the phenomenal practice that it is today. Thank you for believing in me and helping make my dreams become a reality."
Watching the building come together over the summer months was Constituency Manager for Ben Lobb, Pat O’Connor who worked across the street from the new clinic. On behalf of the Huron-Bruce MP O’Connor issued his congratulations to everyone involved.
A grand opening celebration for BCCR will be held October 24.
