Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) has announced that Port Elgin Home Hardware has joined their inaugural fundraising event as the official sponsor of the After Ride Picnic.

“Home Hardware will be helping us, not only with their cash donation, but also by supplying a flat bed truck that will become the stage for the After Ride Picnic entertainment,” said SMHF Executive Director Sally Kidson. “The truck will be parked down at the big flag in Southampton and will be easy to move in the case of inclement weather too,” she added.

The SMHF also announced that 7ACRES has joined the event as a host of the Tiverton rest stop. After climbing the hill into Tiverton, cyclists taking part in the 110 kilometre “Pretty in Paisley” route and the 160 kilometre “Bruce County Bucket List” route will be welcomed to the Tiverton Sports Arena for a chance to stretch their legs and enjoy special some treats and musical entertainment.

“We are very pleased to have 7ACRES host our Tiverton rest stop off-site at the Tiverton Sports Arena,” said Kidson.

To date there are nearly 300 cyclists registered for the inaugural SMHF fundraiser which starts and finishes in Southampton and ends with a beachside picnic, entertainment and prizes awarded to the top fundraisers.
