Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation benefited from strike-outs delivered by pitchers during the Saugeen Shores ball weekend, thanks to Sutton-Huron Shores Realty in Port Elgin.

Over 45 teams took over ball diamonds in Saugeen Shores and Tiverton for the annual year-end tournament with $5 from every strike-out going to the Foundation.

"Over 100 strike-outs," said pitcher and Sutton Broker of Record Brian Shular in an August 27 email to the Hub. "Sutton will be donating $750," he said.

Shular added that next year he hopes more teams will participate by handing in their score sheets but said a good time was had by all.
