In recognition of Physicians Day (May 1) and Nursing Week (May 8 to 14) Bruce Power honours health care professionals with more than $600,000 in donations to hospitals and health care organizations.

The investments are being distributed in 2023 across Bruce, Grey and Huron counties and will help to ensure that health care professionals have access to state of the art facilities and equipment, said Bruce Power President and CEO Mike Rencheck, adding that access to quality health care, facilities and equipment is important to their communities as well as their employees and families.

Between 2019 and 2023 Bruce Power has contributed $1.65 million to local hospital foundations, including $250,000 to the Bruce Peninsula, Saugeen Memorial and Owen Sound Regional; and $100,000 to Clinton, Wingham, Alexandra Marine & General Hospital, Walkerton, Meaford, Chesley, Centre Grey, Durham and Hanover.

In 2022, Bruce Power committed an additional $1.5 million to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation in support of their Hospital Redevelopment Campaign.

“Bruce Power’s commitment to local health care helps our foundation and our health care professionals to provide the best care we can to our community members,” said Tracy Murray, Executive Director, Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
