Things got ugly at the Walker House December 18, during the 6th annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, organized by Saugeen Shores resident, Sarah Trelford.

“The ‘sweater party’ is a popular fundraiser for the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey (WHSBG),” said Tiffany Love, Community Funds and Development Coordinator for WHSBG. The event includes a silent auction, cover charge by donation and a raffle.

“[Sarah Trelford] does a great job at organizing it, the silent auction is always great. This year she added the stocking-stuffer table. It’s fun and everybody loves it. She always gets a great showing. People show up right before Christmas when it’s busy, because they look forward to it,” said Love during the event.

The silent auction helped Cara Beth Kollontay strike items off her Christmas shopping list.

“I ended up with a few items from the Silent Auction table, that I’ll be giving out as presents,” said Kollontay. She added that she was happy that the money went to a great cause and that it stays in our community.

Those in attendance were treated to DJ Ryan “Buzzman”, who kept people dancing late into the night.

At press time the total raised was unknown but the story will be updated as information becomes available.Group ShotWalker House Servers2
