Message from Mike Rencheck, President and CEO Bruce Power

rencheck 560I would like to take this opportunity to follow up from the July 18 announcement regarding my appointment as President and CEO of Bruce Power, starting on August 15.

Firstly, it is an honour and a privilege to have the opportunity to be part of a respected organization and to work with the people of Bruce Power. The organization has achieved amazing progress since the company’s creation and has enabled a very bright future.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with many in Canada’s nuclear industry and Bruce Power. As the new President and CEO, I look forward to building on this success and working with the strong team of employees to continue to deliver on Bruce Power’s role in Ontario’s Long-Term Energy Plan.

I know how important Bruce Power is to the province, Canada’s nuclear industry, and surrounding communities in midwestern Ontario. Being raised in a small town and knowing the positive economic impact nuclear facilities have, I understand there will always be a significant amount of interest in the success of Bruce Power.

The company has established a strong reputation in its host region and also throughout the province. This has been through open communications, collaboration and a commitment to corporate social responsibility. We must continue to build on this successful formula as it has been a core value of mine throughout my career.

Over the coming weeks, my wife Carol and I look forward to moving to the Bruce region and settling into the community. It is a beautiful area and a vibrant community. We are looking forward to this new role with the Bruce Power Team and being a part of the community. This is something very important to Carol and me.

I want to thank you for the many welcoming comments since this was announced. In the coming months, Carol and I look forward to meeting as many people as possible and ensuring Bruce Power continues to play a positive role locally and throughout Ontario for many years to come.

Best regards,
Mike Rencheck
