Saugeen Shores Police, Saugeen Shores Fire and Bruce County EMS remain on scene in front of GC Huston Public School and Bruce County Museum in Southampton after an earlier 911 call indicated that a bomb was in a vehicle in the school’s parking lot.

The perimeter remains closed to the public and the investigation continues.

Saugeen Shores Deputy Mayor Luke Charbonneau said that a number of members of Saugeen Shores Council were at Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre at the time of the evacuation June 5. “[We were] participating in an economic development forum with business owners and other community leaders,” said Charbonneau. “We were evacuated safely by Museum staff,” he added.

We will continue to provide updates as we learn more.
