Clear your overdue fines and help local food banks

food donations

Bruce County Public Library, which has numerous locations across the county including branches in Port Elgin, Southampton, Paisley and Sauble Beach, wants to help you while helping local food banks. For every non-perishable food item donated, $2 will be cleared from overdue fines on your library card up to a maximum of $10.

Items must be dropped off at any Bruce County Public Library location between December 1 and December 8 and food donations from those without fines will also gladly be accepted.

Bruce County Public Library's “Food for Fines” consistently clears close to $200 in overdue fines with each library branch delivering the donated items to their nearest food bank. The program supports the Library’s aim to ease barriers that may deter residents from using Library resources and services, while contributing to an important need in local communities.
