Overnight vehicle entries result in two arrests

In the early morning hours of January 22, Saugeen Shores Police received a report of two suspicious males wearing black and entering a vehicle at a Port Elgin residence.

In a January 23 media release, police attended the area and located a male matching the description. He was arrested at the scene. Continued search of the area located the second male hiding behind an air conditioner at a residence. The second male was also arrested.

Continued investigation revealed that several vehicles in the area had been entered by the arrested males.

A 46 year old male from Georgian Bluffs was held for a bail hearing charged with trespass by night, fail to comply with undertaking given to officer in charge, fail to comply with probation order, possession of Schedule I substance.

A 28 year old male of no fixed address was charged with trespass by night and breach of probation.

Investigation into the identity of the stolen items is continuing and further charges are expected.

The Saugeen Shores Police remind residents to keep their vehicles locked at all times and to never leave valuables in plain view.
