Rotary Run organizers issue "Beat COVID-19" challenge to Saugeen Shores

Donations are open at rotaryrun.net until the end of June and following their announcement that the 2020 Rotary Huron Shore Run event was cancelled for June 6 due to the pandemic, organizers have come forward with a challenge to the Saugeen Shores community to "Beat COVID-19" before the end of June.

Choose your own favourite form of exercise, whether that be running, walking, yoga, shooting baskets, skipping, stationary or road biking for 19 minutes, 19 kilometres, 19 times," read a media release, further urging participants to use their imagination, to come up with unique ideas and to share them to social media.

"Donate $25 or more and get five or more people to sponsor you using the Donate button our RHSR website," read the release, adding that tax receipts will be issued online by RaceRoster and proceeds will be forwarded to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation and local Rotary causes.

Participants were reminded to adhere to government guidelines using safe physical distancing and said that exercise with family on one's own property or street was preferred.
