Bruce County Public Library launches curbside pickup

reading

Although branches are still closed to the public, Bruce County Public Library is moving forward with a service that will allow patrons to safely borrow materials from all 17 branches without entering the buildings.

Starting on Tuesday, June 2nd, library patrons will be able to place orders for curbside pickup by calling or emailing their local branch, or by filling out a form on the library website. Patrons can request specific materials, or staff can pack a grab-and-go bag based on books the patron has read or genres the patron enjoys reading. A maximum of 10 titles can be requested at once, and a maximum of 10 items can be checked out at one time.

When the library has gathered the requested materials, the patron will be contacted to arrange a pickup time. Curbside pickup hours will be the following:

• Tuesdays 4 – 8pm
• Wednesdays 12 – 4pm
• Thursdays 4 – 8pm
• Fridays 12 – 4pm
• Saturdays 10am – 1pm

Returns can be placed in the book drop at any of the library’s 17 branches. All returned materials will be isolated for the recommended 72 hours before being checked in. There will be no fines for late materials during this period.

“Bruce County Public Library is pleased to provide access to our physical books and DVDs to keep residents entertained and informed," said Brooke McLean, Assistant Director of Library Services. “Contactless curbside pickup allows us to provide this service safely for staff and patrons.”
