Something for everyone at the Spring and Summer Leisure Fair

Snow still blanketed the ground March 6 but with spring just a couple of weeks away residents of Saugeen Shores were already signing up for their favourite spring and summer activities.

This year’s Spring and Summer Leisure Fair took place at the Plex in Port Elgin with vendors old and new advertising their programs to fill the warmer days ahead with excitement. In all, 23 booths filled the Rotary Hall attracting locals of all ages ready to shake off the winter blues and start organizing their spring and summer schedule.

The variety of vendors offered something for everyone. Camps and cadets for those seeking adventure, theatre and dance for those with at flare for drama, and many team sports and lessons for aspiring athletes.

Prance

Jorja from the Celtic Academy Irish Dance Canada, arrived to the Plex in Port Elgin in full costume.

KidsStreet

Preschool teacher, Stacey Ashton was at the Spring and Summer Leisure Fair to register children for their summer program.

Mrs Deb from Kindermusik offers “multi-sensory music and learning programs” for infants to big kids.

Sandcastle

Sandcastle Theatre’s Tara Courtney and Carl Denloom set the stage for a fun summer with a TheatreKids program, Summer Camp and Panto auditions at the Spring and Summer Leisure Fair in Port Elgin.

Topp Performance offers child and adult fitness programs for any skill level including the ever popular Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and CrossFit classes. Trainers Sara Topp (left) and Catherine Thomas (right).

If you’re looking to ease your kids into the summer camp experience, Camp Celtic from Lions Head offers a three-day Rookie Camp for first timers aged 6 to 8 years old.
