Breakers make waves in Guelph competition

Seven swimmers from the Breakers Swim Team took part in the Out of the Gate Long Course Swim Meet in Guelph on January 25.

In a Breakers Swim Team submission, all seven swimmers finished with a Top 3 finish and six recorded at least two Personal Bests (PB).

Breakers' Aurora Jacobi set a new club record in the 15 and Over 400m Free with a time of 4:50:33, beating the previous club record that was set in 2002 by an impressive 16 seconds.

In the 11 and 12 Year Old Girls, Emma Aldridge got four PBs and placed 1st in the 200m Free, 4th in the 50m Free and 5th in the 100m Back and 100m Free.

Kenzie Bourassa finished with four PBs and placed 1st in the 50m Free and 200m Back, 3rd in the 100m Free and 4th in the 100m Back.

In addition to her new club record in the 15 and Over 400m Free where she placed 2nd, Aurora Jacobi finished with four PB times in the 15 and Over Girls, placed 1st in 50m Free, 100m Free and 200m Free.

In the 13 Year Old Boys, Matthew Bull brought home four PB times including 1st place finishes in the 50m Free, 50m Back and 200m IM. Bull also got a 2nd place finish in the 400m Free.

In the 15 & Over Boys, Brady Phillips had four PBs, as well as 3rd in the 200m Breast and 5th in the 100m Breast.

Zachary McEwen had two PB times, as well as 2nd in the 200m IM and 4th in the 400m Free.

Jayson Horseman placed 1st in the 200m Breast and 3rd in the 50m Free, 400m Free and 50m Breast.

The Breakers will be competing at the 2020 Collingwood Developmental Meet on February 9 in Collingwood.
