Workplace death in Port Elgin

On August 29th police, fire and paramedics responded to a work place incident at an auto repair business in Port Elgin.

In an August 30 Saugeen Shores Police media release, a 53 year old male employee of the business, from Southampton, was gravely injured while working on a car.

Emergency services responded and transported the man to Saugeen Memorial Hospital. Attempts to save the man’s life were not successful and he was pronounced dead.

This event is under investigation by members of the Criminal Investigative and Drugs division of the police service as well as the Ministry of Labour.

A post mortem is being conducted in London.
