In honour of Wes and Glenna Chalmers, the Charbonneau family recently made a $25,000 donation to the Aquatic and Wellness Centre's “Just Add Water” fundraiser, marking the launch of the Commemorative Brick Campaign.

“My parents and I are pleased to support the Aquatics and Wellness Centre project with this donation,” said Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau, adding that it is a fitting tribute to his grandparents who were community minded and ready to support a good cause.

"We look forward to seeing their names whenever we visit this exciting new community facility," Charbonneau said.

The Commemorative Brick Campaign will provide a way for residents and business members of the community to invest in an engraved, commemorative brick to be installed outside of the community rooms at the new Aquatic and Wellness Centre in Saugeen Shores.

"The Aquatic & Wellness Centre will be a state-of-the-art facility that will house an eight-lane pool, as well as a fitness and wellness centre," ready a recent media release from the Town of Saugeen Shores. "It is one of the Town's biggest capital projects to date and will serve as a regional recreational hub for decades to come."
